What came before this?

The drama of our local gritstone edges carry the story of their long history. This was painted en plein air until rain and a strong wind forced me back to the car. Evidence of the rain is evident on the upper sky in this water colour, left exactly where it fell.  This was one time when watercolour and rain combined favourably.
